Osteocalcin: A new phenomenon for type 2 diabetes and obesity

چکیده
Objectives: The molecular biology revolution has emerged with the determination that bone tissue is an endocrine organ regulates many physiological processes, and osteocalcin (OCN), osteoblast-derived protein provides control, a hormone glucose energy homeostasis. By controlling gene expression in β-cells adipocytes, OCN improves intolerance, obesity, insulin expression. In addition, stimulates secretion of adiponectin, molecule increases fatty acid oxidation sensitivity adipose reduces accumulation. Recent research suggests serum peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator-1α (PGC-1α) uncoupling protein-1 (UCP1) genes, which play role thermogenesis brown tissue, it also affects by increasing adiponectin white tissue. target insulin, resting expenditure mitochondrial biogenesis. With all these effects, recently been found to be associated diabetes obesity components.
Conclusions: This review aims present overview understanding interaction produced osteoblasts metabolism, skeletal muscle appetite metabolism functions bone. was conducted examine evaluate relationship pathways affected non-communicable chronic diseases such as type 2 mellitus obesity.

Screening of LEP gene polymorphisms as a risk factor for obesity and type 2 diabetes in Iraqis
The prevalence of obesity and diabetes changes dramatically with lifestyle and unequal risk among individuals have made scientists interested to understand how the environment interferes with genetic factors to make it so-called genetic predisposition. This study aimed to explore wherethe most variable region is in leptin gene and analyse microsatellite repeats with direct sequencing in Iraqis...
متن کاملObesity and type 2 diabetes
Obesity and type 2 diabetes (T2DM) are public health problems, with health consequences and economic costs that have raised concern worldwide. The increase in the prevalence of diabetes parallels that of obesity. Some experts call this dual epidemic “diabesity”. Elevated body mass index (BMI) and waist circumference (WC) were significantly associated T2DM. One consequence of obesity is an incre...
متن کاملType 2 Diabetes and obesity: A review
The article reviews the relationship between type 2 diabetes and obesity. This also includes types of obesity and its genetic predisposition. The modern generalization of sedentary life and caloric abundance has created new physiological conditions capable of changing the level of expression of a number of genes involved in fuel metabolism and body weight regulation. It is likely that the genet...
متن کاملCommon Variations in Perilipin rs1052700 and FTO rs3751812 Genes, Central Obesity, and Risk Type-2 Diabetes
Background: Perilipins are proteins at the external level of the lipid glob in adipocytes steroid-generating cells and play a central role in lipid storage and breakdown. FTO gene is associated with Type-2 diabetes (T2D) and increased fat mass. Association of Perilipin and FTO genes polymorphism with T2D was investigated. Methods: Clinical traits in a random sample of 183 Iranian men and wom...
متن کاملSerum Adiponectin and Vaspin levels in Abdominal Obesity and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
Abstract Objective: Adiponectin and vaspin are adipocyte-derived proteins and involved in the regulation of glucose metabolism and obesity related disorders. The mechanisms that adipokines might be linked to disturbance of glucose are unclear. Thus, this study investigated the levels of serum adiponectin and vaspin, blood lipid profiles, and abdominal obesity in type 2 diabetes (T2DM) patients...
